She paid quickly and headed out to her car. She opened the trunk and put the groceries in, pulling her keys out of her purse and unlocking the front door. She slid into the front seat and paused for a moment before groaning as she realized what she had done. "I don't suppose you'll get out of my car, will you?"
He sat up, his hair disheveled. Pulling out a knife he slipped it to her throat. He spoke in a sweet voice. "No, I think not. It's rather nice in here. Let's go for a little drive, shall we?
"Don't patronize me," she said smoothly, starting the car. She smelt vaguely of vanilla and jasmine and she shifted slightly, reaching to pull her hair back. "Would you mind taking the knife away? I can't attack you in this position anyway and I'm fairly certain you could outrun me, so there's really no need."
She rolled her eyes as they pulled out of the parking lot, glancing back at him with a raised eyebrow, an amused smile playing on her lips. “You’re really annoying. Did you know I had plans today? Did you even think about that?”
She opened her mouth to protest before nodding slightly. “I suppose that’s true, but to be fair, I was just doing my job. You can understand that. Could you please pull the knife back?”
“From my employer? Yes, I did. Didn’t you get paid too? Who’s to say that you didn’t complete that kill instead of me? I even led the witnesses right to you so that you would be the prime suspect. In fact, I think you owe me.”
She sighed, glancing back at him. Her eyes were sharp and intense despite the amusement in her tone. “It’s me, isn’t it?”
She scoffed at him, raising an eyebrow. “What money? From the job? Mr. Cael, that is locked firmly away in a savings account.”
"You never truly know exciting someone is until you've explored their house." He smirked. "That's fun, too."
