She tossed him vanilla and a spoon before sitting on the couch next to him, turning on the news. The channel was turned to a foreign channel, and the speaker was talking rapidly in a different language, gesturing to the destruction behind him.
She blinked, glancing at him in surprise. "Yeah. There's, uh..." She sighed, resting her head back. "There was another bombing in this small country. It's the third one this month for them. A lot of people are trying to get here to safety, but we're not exactly being friendly about opening our arms. This guy is kinda ranting, kinda pleading, and kinda informing."
"Yeah. There's some pretty *squee!*ty stuff going on right now." She was silent for a moment before glancing at him. "You can say no, but... can I ask about it?"
She looked up at him, leaning back into the couch. "If it's any consolation," she said after a moment, giving him a small smile, "I think it's pretty cool."
