She blinked in surprise, pulling out a few apple slices and sitting on the counter. "Really? That doesn't sound like me. I don't like being close to people."
She clicked her tongue before pouring some pancake mix into the pan. "Anyway. I guess we won't see each other again after this, right?"
She glanced over with a small, genuine smile before turning back to the pancakes. "What can I say? I'm fond."
"Yeah," she agreed, flipping one before glancing back at him. "But you don't want to be friends with me, remember?"
She went to the freezer and pulled out an ice pack before coming over to him. "Towels are in the cabinet under the sink." She paused before giving him a hesitant smile. "Any tools? A wrench, perhaps?"
