“I’m nice to you,” she said, shrugging. “The truth is, Gabe, is that I don’t really talk to anyone unless I’m planninng to kill them. Except for you, of course. Isn’t that sad?”
She gave him a genuine smile before looking down at her phone. "I should probably get going," she said apologetically. "I have a lot of errands to run today."
She seemed hesitant before giving him another smile, the action reaching her eyes. Despite the gentleness of her grin, her golden-grey eyes still remained intense. "You're a cool guy, Gabe. We should hang out more."
She laughed, shrugging on her coat. "You don't have to," she said reassuringly, heading for the doors. "But I'd like us to be friends."
She blinked, glancing back at him in surprise. She seemed confused for a moment, and he might be able to notice a slight flush on her cheeks before she seemed to understand, nodding slightly. "Ah, sure. Go ahead and put your information in my phone," she said, handing it to him.
He pursed his lips. "No, but they have those glove things, you? People usually just use then to use their phone and keep their hand warm at the same time."
