I want to do some covers of the songs from the show when I get bored, but I normally have trouble following through with this sort of thing if I'm not dedicated/have a reason to be dedicated. I had already started doing Winter Wrap up and Art of the Dress by ear but I haven't had time really to finish any of them yet (nothing past less then half way through the MIDI wip), though I'm curious which song you guys think I should do first? Pretty much any song from it would work (though Evil Enchantress would probably be difficult considering it's more or less frantic rhyming more then singing) so...
My personal favorite is Pinky Pie's "No Fear" song from the pilot episode, a cover of that would be awesome.
Oh damn it, I thought that you had posted in The sugarcube corner and so wanted to do a cover of an actual stand-alone song *Not featured in movies, etc* Nevermind, Here's one I'd love to hear *I think that the instrumental can be done easily*:
Hmmm I have already started on the midi of art of the dress, I may finish that http://www.box.net/shared/t91d3dlkql (just midi atm, if you don't know what a midi is, I basically use them as rough drafts before using some better sounding virtual instruments, midi is just really easy to work with to start) Though I'm not sure how I like my interpretation so far, it's a tad bit boring/uncreative
It is fitting the original track perfectly! I actually sang the lyrics while listening to it! Well, anyway, when you're gonna "un-midi" it? I mean, some quality sounds using?
Well first I have to get the whole thing down, he song's a tad bit repetitive in it's layout so it's not too difficult once you get one part of it down. I could probably finish getting the rest of it down by ear in a day and start working on a wip of a non-midi song in a day if I had the time to devote to it, school's been keeping me busy there.
http://www.box.net/shared/t46ai2irka I'm kinda getting an urge to finish the Art of the Dress cover, a bit busy atm but ran the midi through GXSCC for fun (I plan on putting it through more legitimate sounds in the final, this one is just for fun atm - I don't have time right now to work on it).
