She looked surprised at him, but he answer was firm. "No, Ben. I want to stay with you, if you'll have me."
He was still frowning at her, but his blush deepened. "I don't know. I think it's going to leave a scar." He laughed a little. "It's vain to be sad about that; I could've lost my eye."
Her blush deepened and her hand moved to his jaw, her thumb brushing his cheekbone. "Clearly you have never looked in a mirror," she said with a small grin, watching him.
He smirked a little, the first smile she would have seen from him in a while. "You're getting better at flirting."
"It was good," he agreed. "The right mixture of endearing and obnoxious." He brushed her hair back, giving her a smile.
She laughed a little, leaning into his touch. "We should go to the library together later. Maybe we'll find some cool books."
