He offered her a plate of eggs and potatoes.
She took it gratefully, kissing his cheek.
He offered another plate to Puck, who took it silently.
She ate quietly as well, her legs crossed.
He took a mug of coffee, sitting down too. “We need to get moving soon.”
She nodded slowly. "We've done a lot of traveling lately."
“It’s really not all it’s cracked up to be,” he said with a laugh.
"You don't think?" she asked curiously, looking up at him.
“Have you been enjoying this?” he asked.
She looked up at him thoughtfully. "Sometimes."
“Even the violent Magyck threats?”
"I said sometimes, not all the time."
He laughed a little, drinking the coffee. “I guess. Which parts have you liked?”
She hesitated, scratching her temple. "The parts where nobody is really angry or in peril."
“Be specific, Calliope.”
"I can't name every second," she said with a frown.
"No," he replied with a small smirk. "But you could name one."
"You think I'm lying?"
"I think you can't think of a moment on this trip that actually made you happy."
"Reaching the Fae kingdom," she said stubbornly, crossing her arms.
