Puck took his as well, squinting at Ben. "What happened to your face?" "I was attacked by a vicious monster," Ben replied flatly.
"He asked me to attack him, to see if I could do it efficiently," Cal said with a small frown, "so I did."
He squinted at her, frowning. "Your claws are attacking people now? Calliope, that's not good. You don't have control?"
He frowned, looking up at Ben, who shrugged. "And I was trying to protect myself, too. She's good, Puck. She's really, really good."
Cal looked a little embarrassed, and she hesitated. "..I would feel more confident in an arm wrestle now rather than before."
She pursed her lips, looking up at him and raising her eyebrows. "I'm not sure how much you've improved since you moved to the city," she said slowly, as if considering it playfully, "but I suppose so."
Ben cracked his knuckles playfully. "Sounds like we have a competition. Contestants, eat your breakfast first."
"Sounds more like your.. what's the word? Financially incompetent," she said with a small laugh, shaking her head.
"No," he replied adamantly. "I believe that the girl I'm dating can win because I taught her. Puck, you just about ready?" He looked up, raising one eyebrow. "I could be finishing this breakfast and still beat her."
