I will give it a 9 out of 10. It was perfect, except that Fluttershy's transition to discord was cheap and uncreative and she's my favourite pony. Other then that I I was squealing like a schoolgirl and smiling the whole episode!
I thought how Discord got her was hilarious!Besides, Fluttershy is WAY too nice to fall for any tricks!
Discord needs to be recurring in more than just the next episode. They can make him so great. John deLancie doing the voice is better than I could have imagined.
I kind of want it to be a 3 parter. Anyway, Fluttershy seemed to have no reason to turn to being unkind. I suppose she may have thought back to how annoyed the other ponies got of how cowardly she was in Dragonshy, but she saved the day in the end. Then again maybe that's why discord stopped trying to trick her and just directly use his magic to turn her. I think I get it now, he could not trick her, so he cheated. Wow, now that I think about it that is deep!
Agree. I thought discord getting frustrated was the funniest thing in the episode. Other than discord doing the MC Hammer on Twilight's head. xD
10. Not even exaggerating. The character development of Discord is amazing. He is probably my favourite character from the show right now, so complex and cunning and just plain stunning. His voice acting is top notch too.
9.7/10 Superb for the second season opener, and Discord's personality fits Q to a tee. Loved it; Fluttershy shoulda stayed good though.
9/10, only because the plot indeed felt a little rushed. But oh mai gah, it WAS awesome. It's cool how they made the destructive power of discord the main theme, while the constructive power of friendship/kindness/tolerance was the theme of season1's starter episodes. There's a lot to be learned from this show.
I normally hate the CMCs, but I loved them in the early bit. I'm surprised Luna is mentioned, but not even shown. Really, Celestia? You and your sister stop this guy before she turns into Nightmare Moon and it's not important enough for her to even say 'Hi'? I agree, Pinkie's hair should've gone straight when she was turned. The whole Rarity thing was amusing, though.
Actually i think the voice acting from the CMCs early in the episode was bad, it did not convince me they were genuine. But the rest was great. I have come up with my own rationality to Fluttershy's cheap conversion. So with both those positive and negative realisations it evens out to the same score I gave before 9/10.
Okay, I watched it earlier today and I decided to give it a solid 8 out of 10. I think it went by waaaay too fast, but the story was strong and the characters were still deep as they were in the prior season, plus it did it a good job getting me pumped for episode 2 XD
It was interesting for sure, I do agree Pinkies hair should have gone flat with her transformation from happy go lucky to I hate everything. There should have been more from Applejack and Fluttershy, I give it 7/10 <3
I have ever had to wait weekly for a show before. Normally I have waited for shows to get released on DVD before I either download or rent the episodes.
