Hello, If you’re a Mass Effect fan then you’re should be aware that the Extended Cut that alters the Mass Effect 3 ending. Now this is going to be in Spoilers territory so anyone who wants to see the Mass Effect 3 Extended Cut Endings please leave, if anyone wants to straight away see the Mass Effect 3 Extended Cut Endings, the link of the videos are down below.

A quick word about the original endings of Mass Effect 3. I, like a majority of Mass Effect gamers, was very disappointed for this let down. I have a huge grudge of not only for EA and Bioware but also the Games Industry and Gaming Critics in general. I really don’t believe that an altered ending would be better if Bioware keeps defending the original as “artistic integrity”. I made an unwritten rule never to buy another EA/Bioware product with the possible exception of Dead Space 3. I did look at the new endings and I’m surprised but not happy.

    Destroy ending: http://youtu.be/8fLEEHhnBgA
Control ending: http://youtu.be/jyDF_9NTvPA (Audio is messed up in that one)
    Synthesis ending: http://youtu.be/NkhQclzHMcg
    Refusal ending: http://youtu.be/PThzItSAT5c

Okay let me address a few points within the endings. Firstly Bioware retconed the fact that when a Mass Relay explodes, it destroys a entire sector of Solar Systems, meaning Shepard did not killed the entire population of the Galaxy off-screen. Secondly they now give a reason why the Normandy left Earth in the first place but the reason for it is just stupid. Thirdly Bioware is getting rid of most of the traces over the Indoctrination theory. I’m really disappointed with that. Fourthly they explain more on the choices but there are still plot holes. Fourthly and most importantly is that most of the plot holes are still there.

Okay they made the endings much better than the original endings, for one thing they try to make it distinctive and added an epilogue of what happened to the characters but it’s still the same and the only difference is how creepy it is. The Destroy ending is actually a more plain and simple ending of how Shepard defeats the Reapers and how he brought peace the galaxy. I would be happy of that ending but I’m not, it’s hard to explain. The Control and Synthesis ending are very creepy endings. It’s cool that you can see Shepard becoming a Reaper Overlord but it’s like I said very creepy since it’s supposed to be a “happy” ending and that he has an army of Reapers “protecting” the galaxy. The Synthesis just made everyone into Zombies. Both Control and Synthesis have Reapers now helping the Galaxy, It’s creepy that they’re easily forgiven like that.

But one of the best Bioware has the offered to suppose to be its worse. In the Refusal ending Shepard gives Godkid the finger and makes this speech to be ‘Better dead as yourself, than forced to choose a choice under the rEApers’. Godkid is not joyful and doomed the Galaxy to the Reapers. I actually find this ending actually better than any of the other endings, I don’t care if its Bioware giving the finger to the people hated RGB choices, It’s brilliant. Also you can tell it’s the Bioware is giving a ‘Take That’ on the fans, particularly on the Indoctrination theory, because when disagree or even outright disagree with the kid would just doomed humanity to the Reapers. I really want to fight back Extragalactic robotic as myself rather than a Reaper giving those “choices”, I just wish it gives more to expanded on it that Shepard with all the forces in the Galaxy fight back but instead we get a ‘Game Over’ screen. The Refusal ending could potentially the best ending, giving more of an impact over the other endings for an ending that looked like it designed to be the failure ending than a actual ending. At this point I don’t care if about the outcome, giving that kid a piece of my mind a better ending than the RGB endings. I have to say Refusal ending is the true ending now.

So an overall opinion: the new endings are improved like polishing dirt. I had it with Bioware and EA.

I want to know what your opinion over the new Mass Effect 3 endings.
