Eliza raised an eyebrow, her gaze sharp and tumultuous. "Are we separating, Ms. Reglin?" Jude spoke up, his voice soft. "No, Eliza," he said tiredly. "Sona is agreeing with you. We won't go to the other colonies."
Eliza looked over at Jude before turning on her heel, continuing to walk, her shoulders tight at first. As they walked more, though, they slumped, her head hanging.
Jude nodded, glancing over his shoulder. "I think so. Eliza, we're going to stop now. Okay?" She looked back at them, her brows furrowed before she nodded, returning to them. "We should try to get out from under the rain."
Jude began gathering materials to make small mats for everyone. Eliza was silent, beginning to waterproof the area.
Vaughn dug out the pit, placing rocks around it. He occasionally glanced up at Eliza. Sona gathered sticks and some logs, singing to herself once she was a bit away from the camp.
Eliza seemed to be completely gone, locked away somewhere inside her brain. She went through the mechanical motions, but there was no substance to her actions. Jude say cross-legged in his spot, weaving grass together .
Vaughn frowned. He was concerned, but didn't bring it up. Sona came back, setting down what she had found before joining Jude. "Can I help?"
