They walked for hours in the rain, the storm lessening as time went by. After about half the day had passed, they came across a train track. Eliza stopped them, looking down at it with a frown.
Eliza looked down the line, her brows furrowed. "There is a train that runs through the colonies," she said slowly. "Leading all the way to the High Seat. Maybe we can catch a ride..."
She paused, considering this. "The sea was to our right," she said. "So we should go..." She pointed to the left. "This direction."
They walked for what felt like hours. Any attempt at conversation would drop listlessly with the wind, and eventually, everyone knew better. There was a speck on the horizon. As they grew closer and closer, the speck began to grow, expanding into a strangely familiar cement and wood building. They would recognize it as a similar structure to their own Colony; this held another group of workers. The tracks ran up right alongside it, going to an open station of sorts for transporting cargo.
"Neither do I," Eliza said thoughtfully. "I think what we should probably do is wait out here. When the train stops, we can try to get in on this side rather than on the station terminal. That way, at least there won't be eyes on us."
She led them to the line where the forest met the tracks, running her fingers through her sheared brown hair tiredly. "You should sleep, Eliza," Jude said after a moment. She frowned, waving him off distractedly. "I'm alright."
Sona tilted her head slightly. "I think you should. It'll be okay, since he have to wait for the train, anyways."
She shook her head again, saying nothing. "I'll sleep a little when we get on the train," she said. "For now, I don't feel comfortable enough."
