She sighed before reaching up to kiss him, her fingers curling in his shirt.

 

The waiter returned and eyed them for a moment before sliding the shake across the table.

"There we are. I'll be right back with the check."

 

Poppy waited until the waiter was gone before giving him a particularly long kiss, almost stubbornly.

 

"She gave us a dirty look. Did you notice?"

 

She brushed his hair back affectionately.

"Nasty look or no, I like kissing you. Is that okay?"

 

"Mm. Vanilla shake?"

 

She leaned back in the chair, resting her curly head on his shoulder.

"How is it?"

 

She took a sip before kissing his cheek.

"It's lovely. Have some more."

 

"Can we?" she asked, kissing his head. "I feel like that's not allowed."
