"Just because I figured out an aspect of your character doesn't mean that I'm cheating," she said smoothly, straightening his tie. "It just means that I'm paying attention."
"I thought we've established that I don't hate you. Quite the contrary, actually." He thought a moment. "Let me rephrase; I hate it when I'm wrong."
"Well, you're not wrong very often," she said, softening a little. "And just because I'm right doesn't mean you're wrong."
"I suppose," he said. "But being wrong is a loss I'll be able to handle. I'll just never learn a lesson from it, though. (When you have an idea in your head is something to draw, but you're not sure if you can portray it how you want. And it's totally not Francis as a child in a boy scout outfit whaaat)
"Is that what you think? Everyone says it's good to learn lessons, but I always thought it was dumb." (I can sure try haha)
She grinned up at him, obviously content. "Ah, I'm sure there's some value to learning," she said sarcastically. "But it's much more enjoyable to watch someone make the same mistakes over and over again." (Have you ever read Miss Abbott and the Doctor?)
(skksksjjsl I HAVE SEEN THE ART IT'S SO GOOD) "Don't make the same mistake twice is a lesson I've learned, but have trouble following." He chuckled. "It's difficult."
(She's so talented. Weirdly enough, the two main characters really remind me of Francis and Poppy.) "You'll get it," she said, tucking a stray lock of his dark hair back into place. "I think you're pretty thoughtful with your actions and that's kind of the first step."
(Yeah, haha. I hope I can draw as well as her one day. Maybe make a comic.) "Thoughtful with my actions? Like that one time I beat up your ex?"
(I think you're already well on your way!) She glowered up at him playfully, her brow raised slightly. "That was one time."
(Haha, thank you!) "One time for him," he said quietly. "You don't know how many other people. Ones who actually deserved it, though." He crossed his arms. "Most of them, at least," he said, under his breath.
She was quiet for a moment, her expression hard to read. Her eyes darted across his face as she thought on his words. "Well," she said eventually, rubbing his arm lightly. "Your conscience is the only thing that can tell you if it was the right move to make at the time. Being thoughtful with your actions..." She shrugged. "Half the battle is reflecting on what you've done, and how you can better yourself in the future."
(Went to look at her art, and now I'm inspired to draw, so might do more than the child Francis) He used his other hand to rest it in top of hers. "You're right," he said softly, looking into her eyes. "Thank you for making things clear to me."
(Dooooo it!) She gave him a cheeky smile, her hand turning to hold his. "Like I said," she said softly, "I am right most of the time."
He wrapped his arms around her. He was just glad about the recent events, and her words made him feel... Like a good person.
(hnnnnnnnngggg) She hesitated for a moment out of surprise, but she quickly wrapped his arms around him, her head resting on his shoulder. Her body naturally relaxed into his arms and the whole action still amazed her, how simple and natural it was and yet how unattainable she once believed it to be. "I do love you, you know."
