"Exactly. But that's not what you did, is it?" she asked, crawling into bed next to him. "You tried to trick me."

 

"But you regretted it afterward and had you known what I was seeking inside the bag, you wouldn't have given it to me."

 

"You literally just said, 'I shouldn't have given it to you, then'," she said, turning to look at him.

 

"You certainly sounded pretty serious," she teased, scooting closer to him.

 

"Mmhm. Sure," she murmured, taking his face in her hands and kissing him.

 

She studied him thoughtfully.

"I love you too."

 

Her hands wrapped around his waist and she kissed his neck lightly.

 

She buried her face in his chest, closing her eyes.
