“And if I recall correctly,” she replied, her gaze sliding over to him idly, “I believe that you have told me that you enjoy it, so long as we’re alone together. No time like the present, Craw.”
She turned to face him before kissing him deeply, her hands running through his hair. ”I appreciate,” she murmured between kisses, “the sacrifice.”
She held his face in her hands. “I love you too.” There came a knock on the door and she jumped before laughing deeply. “Hide!”
She laughed deeply before clearing her throat. “Comein.” The door opened and a tall, thin boy entered. He looked a little nervous and Poppy peered at him. “Hello.” The boy checked a receipt, squinting slightly. “It says that I gotta deliver two gallons of mint here?” Poppy gave him a sad smile. “Ah. Yes. If you could just leave it on the bedside table.” He approached slowly, and Poppy sighed, shaking her head. “My husband’s favorite ice cream was mint,” she said sadly. “My dear, dear departed husband.”
The delivery guy cleared his throat awkwardly. “Ma’am, I’m just here to deliver the ice cream.” “Yes, of course, of course,” she said with a sigh, ruffling through her bag. “I’m going to die in here, you know.”
She sighed before glancing up at the boy. “You look like him. My husband.” She passed him the money and the boy cleared his throat. “I see. Was he handsome?” “Now you’re just asking for compliments. Leave me to die.”
