"Fine, fine," he said sarcastically. "No mouth wash." He went to the bathroom, getting a cup along the way. After a minute, he emerged. "Tasted weird."
"Yeah, Phos isn't very concerned with the tastiness of his medicines," she said, grinning at him. "As long as it works."
He went to lay down on the bed, putting a pillow at his side to keep it elevated. "That's what counts."
She sat down in the same chair that she had the first time Francis had become loopy, and she pulled her knees up to her chest. She paused for a moment, and then raised an eyebrow. "You sure I can't just take one video?"
"No. You may not. I'll lose all trust in you, if you do." He frowned. "Besides, we don't know long it takes to start working."
She stretched and then moved to kneel down beside him, her chin resting on her hands. "Remember that thing I said about your weakness, and how I'd only use it for important stuff?" she said quietly. "I consider this very important."
"I'm not letting you take a video, no matter what you say. In this case, I can deny any weakness." He looked down at her, his expression soft. "That's too bad for you."
She pouted, although there was amusement in her eyes. "I've never experienced such a sadness," she said, shaking her head. "Truly, you're breaking my heart here."
"I would never break your heart on purpose, so I don't believe you," he said, his words slowing down a bit.
"Hmm," she murmured. She leaned over and kissed him lightly, smiling against his mouth. "Here's the thing," she said, pulling away. "You could allow it. It's not that difficult."
She sighed and kissed him again, a little shorter this time. "Fine," she said, going back to her spot by the side of his bed. "But only because I love you."
"Mm. I love you too." He spoke up after a bit, a thoughtful look on his face. "Y'knoww, we should make a pillow fort. That sounds fun," he said, his voice slurred a bit, but it was only slightly noticeable.
She squinted at him, debating the pros and cons in her head. "Or," she said. "We could sit here on this nice bed and wait to fall asleep."
"No, that's boring. I don't want to do that." He sat up, turning to put his feet on the floor. "Let's build a fort. I'll be the king, and you'll be my queen, okay?"
She sighed as she looked at him affectionately. "Wait here for a second." She stood up and went to the bathroom to grab a towel. When she returned, she stood in front of him. "Francis, put your right hand to your chest, okay? Like you're saying the pledge of allegiance."
