They walked off, and Poppy stirred, murmuring under her breath.
He tapped her shoulder gently. "Poppy?"
She mumbled before waking fully. “Mm... hm?”
"We're in a park."
“I’m aware, Craw.”
"You fell asleep."
“I know.”
"Some old lady got mad."
“I know. I heard. ‘Save room for Jesus’.”
"You heard that?"
“I did. It was very sweet.”
"The old lady?"
“She didn’t want our souls to be damned.”
"I suppose so.."
“It’s a benevolent thing. It could have been much worse though.”
"I doubt it. They're old people."
“No, I mean we could have been much worse.”
He blinked. "Oh.. I see."
She laughed mischievously, kissing his cheek.
He sighed, tossing the rest of the muffin.
