Diana gurgled, her eyes wide as she looked around, and Poppy reached forward, tickling her stomach.
Francis watched them adoringly, his eyes warm. "I love her."
“She’s pretty wonderful, isn’t she?” Poppy agreed, leaning back and holding the baby carefully.
He nodded, kissing her cheek. "Definitely."
She leaned against him, resting her head on his shoulder. “We get to go home today, yeah?”
He nodded slowly. "I think so."
“Tom’s gonna meet her.”
"He's gonna be so sweet."
“Mm,” she murmured, shifting comfortably. “Our little family.”
"A real family."
She turned her head into his neck, sighing slightly. “I love you.”
He grinned. "I love you too.'
She shifted thoughtfully, squeezing his hand. “It’s really weird to no longer be holding her.”
He chuckled. "Is it?"
“Yeah. I’ve lost a giant bowling ball from my stomach.”
He chuckled, kissing her cheek. "That must feel weird."
“It feels strange, at the very least.”
"I'm sure you'll get used to it in no time."
“Probably. But it is weird.”
"Understandable."
