She gurgled happily, tugging on his hair. Poppy glanced over her shoulder, looking back with a grin. "Guess what she did today?"
She dimpled, coming over and taking her from him and stepping a few feet away. Gently, she set her on the ground, holding her hands to balance her on her feet. "Diana, go to Daddy!" she said quietly, leaning down and kissing her cheek before letting her go. Diana grunted slightly before stumbling forward on unwieldy legs.
She gurgled, patting his face and Poppy chuckled, coming over to them. "She did it when we were in the lab. She was playing in the corner and went really quiet before just standing up and walking over. I couldn't believe it."
“Well, I’m really glad you’re home,” she said, bringing him a plate of lasagna and wrapping her arms around his neck from behind. “I missed you.”
She laughed slightly, rubbing his back before pulling away. "Let me rephrase that; she fingerpainted with the tomato sauce."
