She looked up, her eyes bright before reaching for it.

"Thanks."

 

She dressed Diana before standing up.

"I'm going to put her to bed, okay?"

 

She gave him a small smile before leaving, Diana waving at him over her shoulder.

 

Poppy joined him about 15 minutes later, pulling her hair back.

"That was easier than I expected."

 

"Yeah," she said with a grin, sliding into bed next to him. "Only one story."

 

"Mmhm," she said, leaning over him and giving him a lingering kiss. "Almost a new record."

 

She dipped her head to kiss his neck, her hand resting on his jaw.

"She's doing really well, you know."

 

She was quiet for a moment, kissing his skin.

"I'm really glad you're home, you know."

 

"I miss you when you're not here. It's truly tragic."

 

"Like what?" she murmured quietly, her fingers in his hair.
