"How did you come to acquire this skill."
She shrugged noncommittally. “Ways.”
"That's vague."
“Sorry. That’s as informative as I can get.”
"How many secrets do you hide?"
“Oh, baby,” she said, glancing at him with a cheeky smile. “You don’t even know me.”
"Mm. I thought so."
She laughed wryly, returning to the pan on the stove.
He sat down, folding his hands.
There came a cry from upstairs, and Poppy glanced up, her brow furrowing.
Francis stood. "I'll go get her."
She gave him a grateful smile. “Thank you.”
He nodded, heading upstairs.
Diana was standing up in her crib, holding the side railing.
Francis grinnes at her. "Diana!'
She relaxed, grinning at him. “Cwaw!”
He picked her up. "Diana, stop calling me that."
She frowned, tilting her head stubbornly. “Cwaw.”
"Ugghhh."
She giggled, patting his mouth.
