“Get out,” he said roughly. “You’ll be lucky if you see them at all within the next three months.”

 

He was fuming and he crossed his arms, blocking the door.

Francis’ phone rang.

 

Derrick’s voice came through.

“Francis, Poppy wants to know your opinion on baby names.”

 

He was quiet for a moment before Poppy’s voice filled the call.

“Francis?”

 

“It’s okay, my darling,” she said warmly. “Are you okay?”

 

“Me? I’m wonderful. I’ve got two babies, a dog and a fish. I do miss my husband, though.”

 

“Finn?” she asked, and he would be able to hear her dimpling. “Craw, you have two babies, one that’s less than two months old, and you’re asking about your fish?”

 

“Are you sure about that?”
