She sighed, resting her head on his shoulder.
He kissed her hair. "Should I make breakfast?"
"No, you just came home. I'll do it."
"But I want to.."
"Surely you don't, love."
"I do. It's my first morning back."
"And you want to make breakfast?"
"Yes. French toast."
She relented after a moment. "Fine."
He grinned, sitting up. "Lovely."
"Thank you."
He kissed her cheek. "I'll get it started."
"Do you need any help?"
"If you'd like to."
She stood up with a small groan, standing up and pulling James into her arms.
He headed down, his eyes bright.
She followed, holding Diana's hand.
He went downstairs, heading into the kitchen and getting things out.
Diana talked at length about something, laughing deeply as they came down the stairs.
He got out the ingredients, relishing the idea of being home.
