“No, please don’t be sorry,” she said, sounding desperate. Her hand came up to rest on his jaw and she gently turned his face to look at her, and he would see tears glistening in her eyes helplessly. “I have to leave my kids. Don’t you leave me too.”
She took a shaky breath before kissing his lips softly, her whole body trembling as she pulled away slightly. “Please don’t leave me alone here. I need you to talk to me.”

She fell silent again, looking up at him. "Sorry," she said after a moment, reaching over and resting her hand on his back.
She shuddered slightly, but it sounded like it was of relief, and she buried her face in his shoulder, wrapping her arms around his waist. "I love you. I love you."
