"Oh, I am definitely not joking. It was a real tragedy. Four- no, three whole fatalities. All because of my horrid driving."
"I'm not. I may be a reckless driver, but I'd never kill anyone like that," he said, glancing over at her.
They entered the main lobby, and she sighed with relief. "Oh, good," she said. "I'm glad that my boyfriend won't be incarcerated for manslaughter."
"Whoever has money rules all. Even I did get incarcerated, it wouldn't last long." He crossed his arms. "Besides, I wouldn't be caught dead wearing those ugly orange clothes."
She laughed, ducking her head. "Yes, because that's what you should be worried about in jail. The crimes against fashion."
"They're ugly. What more can I say?" He crossed his arms, his eyes resting on the main desk. "How isolated is your house?"
"Not too bad," she said uneasily. "It's down this long driveway, and the actual house is kinda surrounded by these woods, but the nearest neighbor is under a mile away. It just isn't in a major town." (Kinda nerdy, but I'm working on a song right now for this RP. It probably won't make an actual appearance in the story, but it's how Poppy thinks of Francis.)
(I'm so excited!! I didn't know you made songs?? That's so cool!) "Ah. At least it's not in the middle of nowhere. I always find places like that to be frustrating to stay in, especially if it's a desert. Luckily this isn't a desert." He realized he was rambling, and stopped. "I'm sure it will be fun."
(Well, they're pretty informal, but I'm excited about that one. I'll see if I can figure out a way to post a sneak peek.) Her smile was doting, and she kissed his cheek quickly. "Well, I like it," she said. "But I might be biased."
(Is it possible that any of your other songs may be able to be listened to? I'm so excited) "I think I'll like it. It sounds nice," he said, tilting his head slightly.
(Unfortunately, I mostly just do classical pieces on a wacky program, so it's a little difficult to upload them places. But I think I'll be able to get you a snippet of this before tonight. Don't get too excited though, it's no masterpiece.) "I hope you do," Poppy said as they approached the front desk. She cleared her throat and addressed the secretary. "Excuse me," she began, "but do you think could possibly tell us where we'll be landing tomorrow?" He looked up at her with a small frown, as if she were disturbing his work. "We'll be staying in Eldingston to gather supplies for a couple of days," he said shortly. Poppy absorbed this information and then nodded. "Lovely. Thank you." She turned back to Francis. "That's good news, I think."
"It's as close as we're going to get, I think. We probably will have to take a train, but it shouldn't be longer than half an hour, tops." (Okay, my recording equipment was being rude, so the quality isn't very good, and it's just a not very good song in general, but here's a very small snippet. Spoiler: boop boop )
(Jdjej hdjsksn that's so good I'm hecking speechless oh my goodness) "That's not that bad. I thought it would be worse. This probably means we'll have to get up early, though."
(Ach! Thank you! It would be nicer if I could figure out how to export the original file, but... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯) She laughed deeply, and there was a smile in her voice. "In case you haven't noticed, I generally do get up early. You're the late sleeper of this duo."
"Hmph. It's not my fault I like sleeping so much. Waking up early is overrated." He raised an eyebrow. "Sleep is good."
"I never said it was bad," she responded smoothly, glancing up at him with a raised brow. "I'm not your enemy here."
"I know you're not. Quite the opposite, in fact," he said, brushing back a stand of her hair. "I just don't understand how someone can wake up so early."
