He would eventually find her in the lab. She was alone, her brows furrowed as she squeezed a purple droplet into a beaker of boiling gold liquid. She squinted as sparkling smoke began pouring out of the compound, leaning back and recording information in the notebook. She wore goggles and a lab coat, and her main distinguishing feature was her curly red hair, tied back in a ponytail.
She looked focused and quickly pulled the mixture off the flame, setting it down gently. It instantly froze, and Poppy tilted her head thoughtfully, frowning as the glass cracked and shattered, piling in a heap on the table. She groaned slightly in frustration, setting it down.
He looked up, looking remorseful. "I'm sorry for leaving you alone. I'm sorry. That wasn't good of me to do."
She tilted her head slightly, pulling her gloves off and holding his jaw in her hands before kissing him.
She brushed her thumb across his cheekbone. "It's okay, my darling. I'm sorry I've been so weepy lately..."
