She dropped him, and shut the door. "I don't deal with liars. Caedis is a bad group, and we don't need that man spreading his beliefs to the world. Besides, there's always other ambassadors."
Poppy had shut her eyes when he fell. His screams etched into her brain though, and she was sure that they would stay there forever. "So, what do we do now?" she asked finally, checking Francis' pulse again.
"You'll be dropped off at the helicopter pad, and if they ask then you will tell them that the mission failed. Hopefully they don't, as I'm normally the one they ask. Mr. Craw will be taken to the hospital where he can get proper treatment, and you will be able to go home. Also, is this your first mission, if you don't mind me asking?"
"Then I recommend seeing a therapist as well. Stuff like this can wear on you," she said, leaning back.
"Okay.." Poppy said slowly. She looked over at Francis, a frown crossing her face. "Actually, would it be possible for me to come to the hospital with him? I was kinda supposed to tend to the ambassador and his medical needs on this mission, and I think I failed on both those accounts. It's the least I could do."
Poppy noticed, and turned to him. "Francis?" she asked softly, searching his face for a sign of movement. "Can you hear me?"
Poppy laughed softly, relief coursing through her body. "He sure did, Suit Boy," she said. "Are you feeling okay? I mean, obviously not great, but... you know.. not dead?"
"I still have a name.." He paused, wincing. "I suppose I'm alright for someone who was supposed to be killed."
"We're heading to the hospital right now, and you're going to get all checked up. Is there anyone I should call? Your brother or your parents?"
"Okay," she said quickly, noticing his reaction. "Okay, they don't have to be there. I won't call them. Don't worry." She hesitated, looking down at her hands. Her hair fell in front of her face, and she tucked it behind her ear. "I'm.. going to stay, though. If that's okay. Just.. I wouldn't feel right leaving. I can wait in the waiting room and everything. But.. I'm going to stay."
She laughed, shaking her head. "Because I'm worried about you, Francis! I felt like that was obvious."
Poppy threw her hands out in exasperation. "Because I care about you, you dork!" she said, shaking her head. "I care about what happens to you, anyways. Plus, I was supposed to take care of your health on this trip and I didn't do too good of a job on that."
"That's... A stupid reason. You should never base your actions on your emotions." He sighed, then lifted up his head. "Excuse me, I don't need to go to a hospital. That's ridiculous."
