"You can go see the babies," she said angrily. "You didn't do anything wrong. I did. You can go back home and see them again."
"You can too! You're just choosing not to. Why did you do it if there was no point in the end? I.. I just want to be home with you."
She looked uncertain, looking towards the ground. "But... I did something bad. I should... there should be repercussions for it. And what if they find out it was me? I'll be in even more trouble, and I'll get taken away anyway."
His voice cracked slightly. "You were just going to leave. You were just going to leave without saying anything?"
"No," she said instantly, her caregiving side taking over. She came over to him, reaching out to hold his jaw in her hands. "No, I wasn't. But... but we gotta figure it out. Francis, look at me."
"No, I just..." she exhaled slowly. "Look, someone needs to go back to our kids, right? One of us does. I did something really, really bad. I don't deserve to go back."
