She was staring at nothing, her eyes clearly weary. The soft light of sunrise streamed into the room, painting the walls a golden yellow. The town below them awakened slowly, the gentle chattering of the marketplace below rising into the air. She was warm next to him, her head resting on his arm, but she didn't seem to notice that he had woken, her gaze unfocused as her thoughts flew through her brain.
She blinked, looking up at him with a frown. "You won't know when it's happening," she said, sounding very nervous. "No one ever does."
She still looked slightly panicked, but her tiredness quickly took over, and she fell asleep, her head in his hand.
