"Getting up is the start of the day though," she said reasonably, kissing the tip of his nose. "Without it, nothing would get done."
"Hmph. You're right again. If I didn't get up, then I wouldn't be able to meet your family, which I would like to do."
She nodded and kissed his cheek before sitting up, pulling the strap of her tank top back on her shoulder, her eyes clear and thoughtful. "Right. And they would be very disappointed as well."
He looked up at her, his expression was that of consideration. "I'm sorry for the stupid things I said last night. My mind wasn't going straight."
She paused mid stretch, her hands extended out in front of her lazily. "You said what you meant," she said affectionately. "And I need to get over my nervousness about it. Don't worry."
He sat up, putting his arms around her waist and resting his head on her shoulder from behind. "Are you sure? I get dumb when I drink."
Her shoulders was spotted with freckles. She turned her head to kiss his cheek, her hand coming down to cover his. Her skin was warm from the bed, and she was still in a delightfully sleepy state. "No, you were honest," she corrected in his ear. "A little bitter, I suppose. But honest. It's important."
He frowned, then sighed and kissed the side of her neck "I didn't mean to sound bitter. It just came out that way."
"I wasn't hurt," she said easily, her free hand coming up to rest on his jaw. "I wasn't exactly delicate with your feelings when you brought it up in the first place, so we can just call it even."
"Hmm. Alright, I can work with that." He got up and stretched, before turning towards her. "So, we have a train to catch today, right?"
"We do," she said nodding. "We should have landed during the night, so we have to catch the train in..." She checked her watch. "Two hours."
"Two hours? Should we go eat to pass some time after we get ready?" he suggested, tilting his head slightly. "There's not much to do."
"We can," she said thoughtfully, pulling the sheet around her. "But that's the time the train departs. So we need to get packed and ready, find the station, and board the train in the next two hours."
"I see. Well, I'd say that's a reasonable time," he said, sitting at the edge of the bed. "We'll probably get there on time, anyways."
She crawled over to him on the bed and sat next to him, her shoulder brushing with his. "We'll be good," she agreed, nodding. She stood up, and squinted as the early morning sun hit her, making her hair become a golden red. She turned to look back at him, her head cocked slightly. "I'm going to go to my room and pack really quickly, okay?"
He just stared at her for a moment, a soft and loving smile on his face. "Right... I should probably do the same."
She responded to his expression with a raised eyebrow, but said nothing about it. "Probably," she agreed, leaning down to give him a quick kiss. "I'll be back, okay?"
He watched her go, sighing after the door closed. He rested his head on his hand was he watched the door, only to get up moments later and get ready.
