He closed his eyes. "I want to just rest."
She frowned at him, kissing his cheek. "That's okay. Do you want to sleep?"
He nodded quietly, his nose brushing her temple.
She brushed her hand through his hair before standing up. "Come on, then."
He nodded, standing and following.
She led him up the stairs, opening the bedroom door.
He looked around longingly before sitting on the edge of the bed.
She looked down at him thoughtfully, her hand brushing through his hair. "Just tonight, okay?"
He nodded, though it seemed sad. "Okay."
She sighed, her hand cupping his face. "We gotta figure this out. We can't just ignore it."
"I know, but I'm afraid of the end result."
She frowned before sliding into his lap and hugging him, her face buried in his shoulder.
He wrapped his arms around her, sighing.
Her fingers ran through his hair and she exhaled, a little shaky. "I love you."
"I love you too."
"I'm sorry I've made this so hard."
"It's not you. This is my fault."
She exhaled, burying her face in his neck. "Let's just not talk about it."
"If you say so."
"Just for now."
