Diana crawled into her lap, leaning back against Poppy. "Can you braid my hair today?" Poppy nodded, brushing her fingers through her hair. "I can, but you should go back to sleep for now. The world is still waking up."
"I don't wanna go back to sleep, though," she said, looking up at Poppy. Poppy sighed, pulling her into an embrace. "I know, sweet girl. Come on. I'll tuck you back in."
She frowned, looking at the ground for a moment. "Okay, look. Just... stay here while I take Diana to school, okay? I'll come home and we'll talk about this."
