She considered his words thoughtfully. "I suppose so," she said, nodding. They came to the end of the street which opened up to a town square of sorts. On the opposite corner was a bustling train station, a large, stately building with people streaming in and out of its doors. "Ha!" she said, smirking up at him in victory. "Told you I wouldn't get us lost."
"I believed you from the start, I swear," he said. "I just wanted to have someone to blame if we did get lost."
She glanced up at him with a raised eyebrow. "And whatever happened to not making people feel badly about their mistakes?" she asked. She raised their intertwined hands to her face and kissed the back of his hand as they walked. "You'd be downright cruel."
"I would never purposely be cruel to you. Most of the time, anyways," he said jokingly, squeezing her hand.
"Hm," she murmured as they stepped inside the train station. "I'm holding you to that." The inside of the train station was bustling. People in business suits pulled their suitcases on wheels and tapped their Bluetooths with irritation. A small family herded their children into a boarding station. Somewhere in the distance, an announcement was made over an intercom. The floor was a cream tile, and the walls were bricks that stretched upwards to come to a peak where a chandelier of ornate glass hung. Various help desks were filled with stern looking agents, distinguishable by their pinstripe suits and their name tags pinned to their lapel. Poppy frowned, and tapped her watch, squinting to read the words that filled the screen. "It looks like we need to get to Station N," she read, her eyes moving across the screen as she read. She pushed a lock of curly hair out of her face as she read, and then looked up at him with a raised brow. "We have 45 minutes before it leaves. We should be okay as long as my sense of direction hasn't been horribly muddled."
(RIP my phone.) He nodded, looking around the station. "Right. And then we should be able to get some food once we get on." He sighed, then checked his watch. "I can't believe how close it feels."
(lol. Been there.) "What do you mean?" she asked, raising her eyebrow as they started walking towards the boarding areas.
"Well, I'm not completely sure." He shrugged. "Just, like, meeting your family and stuff. It's exciting."
"Oh, I see," she said. They turned a corner down a long hallway, and she bit her lip thoughtfully. "I hope you'll like them. They can be a little strange, but they all have really good hearts."
"I'm sure I'll like them," he said reassuringly. "It's not like I'll hate them, at least. That won't happen."
She laughed lightly, tugging a curl with her free hand nervously. "You sound very certain," she said. "So, I'm trusting you on this."
"Good. You shouldn't worry. It'll all be fine," he said, subconsciously tapping her hand with his index finger.
She nodded to herself, reassured by his words. "It will all be fine," she repeated. The train was already in the terminal when they arrived, a machine waiting patiently by the open doors for their tickets. Poppy scanned the both of theirs on her watch and the machine whirred for a moment before beeping, permitting their entrance. "Let's find a compartment, yeah?" she asked, turning to glance up at him.
(I've never actually been on train before, but I've always imagined it'd be really cool.) He nodded, looking down at her, then kissed her forehead. "Alright. It shouldn't be hard."
(What?!? Trains are so cool! I'm kind of basing this one on the Hogwarts Express, though, or the one from Narnia in the beginning.) "Right," she said with a small grin. She led him down the hall, peering into various compartments as they walked before she pulled open a door. "Here's an empty one."
(Psh... I've totally seen Narnia. Totally.) He stepped in and sat down. Placing the bag on his lap. "So we have a little less than 45 minutes. That's a lot of time to kill."
(Oh. My. God.) "We can look for food if you want," she said cheerfully. "Or explore the train. Or, if you wanted to, you could take a nap. We did get up early this morning."
(I'll have to watch it, haha.) "I'll stay up. I brought a book to read for when the train starts, but I don't think you'd find it very interesting. We could look for food. Are you hungry?"
(Fun fact! Eluuna at 7 looks almost exactly like Lucy Pevensie in that movie!) "I could eat," she said, nodding. She extended a hand to him and turned to glance out the window. It was facing the outside, and she gazed at the town surrounding them with a weird sense of contentment.
(Adorable!!) He took her hand between his, watching her thoughtfully for a moment. "I love you," he said, before standing. "Shall we?"
