She returned a few moments later, sliding a glass of water over to him.

 

"Mmhm."

 

"Oh, not at all," she said confidently, sitting down. "I probably can't."

 

"Thank God."

 

She glanced over at him before reaching over to run her fingers through his hair almost instinctively.

"I sure love you."

 

A smile hinted at her lips and her thumb brushed across his cheekbone momentarily before she returned to her food, resting her head on her hand.

 

A quick flush flashed across her cheek.

"You're silly."

 

Her flush deepened, and she looked down embarrassedly.

 

"Shut up," she grumbled, not meeting his gaze and tucking a lock of hair behind her ear.

 

"Cutesy behavior doesn't suit you, Craw," she said, glancing up at him and raising an eyebrow.
