He smiled slightly. "Does she?"
"Mm... she's beautiful, huh?"
"Yeah. She is."
Poppy shifted, resting her head in the curve of his neck. "We did it."
He put an arm around her. "You did it."
"You helped," she said with a small laugh, not taking her eyes off the baby.
"Mm. You're not wrong."
"I mean... she looks so much like you. How could she belong to anyone else?"
"Maybe she's me."
"She definitely is," Poppy agreed, burying her face in his neck.
He chuckled, saying nothing more.
"How long was I out?"
"Eh. Just a few hours."
"Really? Sorry..."
"It's okay. As long as you feel better."
"And if I don't?"
He shrugged. "Then that's sad."
"I just gave birth, you goofus. Do I need to go through exactly what just happened?"
"No, that's okay."
"Because I can. I'm a scientist," she teased.
