She laughed slightly. “We made it, huh?”
"We sure did."
“Would you have ever thought we could end up like this?”
"No, but I'm glad it did."
"We're kinda a strange grouping."
"A little. That's okay."
"I think we're kinda perfect."
"Oh, good. I feel the same way."
"How did we find each other?"
"Mm.. Our jobs?"
"Nah. I'm sure it's something else."
"Fate?"
"God, no. I'm a scientist, Francis; you know I don't believe in that sort of thing."
"Oh, sorry. I meant destiny."
"Ah, better."
"No problem."
She kissed his cheek before falling silent, looking down at Lily.
He did the same, shutting his eyes.
