He kissed her cheek. "Do you want to head to bed?"
"Yeah," she said tiredly. "That should be good."
He took her hand, leading her to their room.
She followed, yawning. "Wow. Long day."
"Yeah. We'll get to sleep though."
"Mm... and we have maternity leave, or... paternity leave for you, and we can sleep."
"Exactly."
"But I gotta... ugh. I gotta feed her in a couple hours."
"Right, but then back to sleep."
"If she goes back down."
"I think she will."
"You have a lot of faith being the person who isn't waking up."
"I can wake up if you want."
"Nah, baby. One of us needs to be lucid," she said, sitting in the bed.
"If you say so."
"Mmm... Jesus. I'm tired."
He kissed her cheek before going to get on pajamas. "We can sleep."
"Yeah," she agreed, lying back against the pillows. "...yeah."
He slipped into bed, wrapping his arms around her.
She had fallen asleep while he was going to put on pajamas, but her head rested on his shoulders.
