"Many people feel light headed after incidents with electricity," the doctor said, nodding. "I can send for some medication for that if you'd like."
"My heartbeat also feels very rapid, if that's important." He fixed his sleeve. "And yes, medication would probably help."
"Hm," he said thoughtfully. "Well, those are both common symptoms, but we'll send for some medicine anyway. It'll also make you not feel so sore in the morning, but it might make you a little loopy tonight."
"Loopy? Ugh. That's always a hassle." He almost decided to not take the medication, but chose that it was for the better. "I have no more questions."
"Alright," the doctor said brightly. "I'll be back with that shortly." He left the room, his gait long and smooth, and Poppy raised an eyebrow at Francis but didn't say anything.
"Glad to see Grumpy Francis is back," Poppy said, nodding to herself. "I was worried that the electricity had zapped him out for good."
"Grumpy Francis? You know you were secretly wishing I would stay knocked out. You and I both know it," he joked, a small smile forming.
"Of course not!" Poppy said, smiling as she leaned back on the sofa. "You wouldn't have been as uncomfortable with the check up if you had been unconscious. I wouldn't have missed that for the world."
"So you like to see me uncomfortable? How cruel. And I thought you were a good person." He turned away, feigning a sad look on his face.
She chuckled lightly. "Only a little," she said. "But I am glad to know that I passed the Francis Craw test of morality and goodness." (Is Craw the correct last name? When he introduced himself, he said it was Craw, but on the character sheet it says Shaw. If not, let's pretend that she said the right thing, and didn't make a total fool of herself. For her sake. )
(It's Craw. It was really late when I made his sheet and I was also messing with Shazam at the time woops) "Oh yes." He rolled his eyes. "You did easily. Which is probably why you get on my nerves so quickly."
(Alrighty!) She grinned, leaning back on the plush sofa. "Oh my goodness," she said. "That's the closest to a compliment that I think I will ever receive from you. Are you sure you're alright?"
"Leave? And miss Loopy Francis? I could never," she said, miming locking her lips with a key. Almost on que, the doctor returned. "Alright Mr. Craw," he said, flipping through the clipboard. "This should wear off soon after you go to sleep tonight. It's really just to maintain your symptoms until your body comes to terms with what happened. If you wake up though, and you think you need more medication, just call one of us and we can give you some more. Or Miss Abernathy can do it. Whatever works." He held up a syringe filled with a crystal blue liquid. "Are you ready?"
Francis pulled up his sleeves, and nodded calmly. "I am. How long do you think it will take for the side effects to begin?"
"It depends on the patient," the doctor said, nodding. "Average in about 10 minutes, but some experience it sooner and some take hours."
The doctor hesitated and then nodded. He passed the syringe to Poppy, who stood up and took it carefully. His beeper signaled, and he jumped. "Oh, shoot. That's Ms. Baker. I'll check back in later and see how you're doing." He exited the room, muttering under his breath. She came around the bed and located the vein. She glanced up at him. "You ready?"
