"I love you too," she murmured as her eyelids slipped over her grey eyes and her nose nuzzled the side of his neck. She quickly dozed off, her whole face becoming lighter and younger.
He was still, just admiring the thought of being next to her. His heartbeat quickened a bit, but he shut his eyes and tried to sleep as well, eventually falling into a rest.
Poppy's watch beeped, and she stirred, still half asleep. She turned her face in Francis' chest and slid her arms around his torso, murmuring slightly.
Francis shifted slightly, disturbed by the beeping. He sleepily leaned down and kissed the top of her head, smiling slightly. "My love," he said sweetly, rolling the words around in his head. "We have to wake up."
"Didn't we already wake up once this morning?" she asked, her words muffled slightly. "And look where that got us. Right back in bed. Who's to say that if we wake up this time we won't just end up back here?"
"I know how you feel," he said, his voice hinting at reluctance, "but we have the meeting we need to go to."
She opened her eyes and met his gaze, frowning slightly. Her irises darkened at the edges, with lines of blue streaking from the pupils, and these eyes were chiding him. "Whose side are you on here?" she teased, raising an eyebrow.
"Yours, always, but I think we should get up for work, y'know? As much as I would like to stay in bed, we've got a job." He sighed, getting a bit lost in her eyes.
She groaned, knowing he was right, before tilting her head up to kiss him. "Ach," she said when they pulled away. "Fine." She sat up, and a strange look crossed her face. "I was loopy. I just remembered." She turned to him sharply, raising an eyebrow. "What happened?"
"You were very sweet," he said, smiling slightly. "But you tried to braid my hair, and then you 'teleported'."
"You said that you really really loved me, and that you thought I was handsome." He chuckled, sitting up.
He chuckled, crossing his arms. "I'm glad you think so, because I love you and I think you are very beautiful."
