She laughed lightly, and shook her head and exited the room with a small click. She returned to her room, gathered some clothing, and entered the bathroom, turning on the shower with a quick swipe.
(Sure!) Poppy entered while he was shaving. She wore a simple brick orange blouse that was tucked into dark blue jeans and brown shoes. Her curls were damp and dark from the water, and they smelt of her shampoo; lavender and rose water.
Half his face still had shaving cream on it and he looked over at her. "Ah, Poppy! How would you like to give your loving fiance a kiss?"
She took one look at him and burst into laughter. "Don't come near me with that," she warned, her eyes sparkling with the challenge.
She laughed deeply, darting away from his outstretched arms, and turning only when she reached the other side of the room. "I swear to God, Francis," she said between her laughter and raising one finger in warning.
"Hmph. Fine. Don't give me a kiss then. See if I care." He turned his back to her teasingly, crossing his arms.
She cocked her head, and ran up behind him, standing on her tip toes to kiss the back of his neck with a quick peck, her posture alert.
He didn't turn around, knowing she'd probably run away. "Nuh uh," he mumbled, shaking his head. "Doesn't count."
"You're not going to get me to kiss you on the mouth, Francis Craw," she said wryly. "So you're just going to have to accept that."
She hesitated before following him, coming around in front of him to kiss him. When she pulled away, she had shaving cream on her nose, and she squinted at him. "The things I do for love," she said sarcastically, shaking her head with mock disappointment.
He wiped it off, then went back to shaving. "Thank you for your sacrifice. It's appreciated greatly."
"Mm," she murmured, sitting on the counter. "I wouldn't just do that for anyone, you know. Only fiancés."
She grinned at him, her head tilted slightly. "And you're my favorite fiancé I've ever had!" she said brightly. "So even better!"
She kissed his freshly shaven.cheek and turned to study him in the mirror. "You look handsome," she said quietly. "I mean, you looked handsome before shaving. I guess you're just a handsome guy."
