He sighed happily, silent after that. The quietness of the library soothed him, but the sound of the viola made it better.
Poppy ran through some Bach, her fingers slipping over the strings easily. She put it back in its case eventually, and rested her head down on the table with him, her chin settling on her hands.
"You," she said quietly. "Us. Everything that's happened. It's crazy. Three months ago, I didn't know you."
"Mm. That makes me feel like we're moving way too fast," he said. "We totally are, but that's fine, right?"
"Of course. I know you're the love of my life, so why not just go?" He sighed, leaning over to kiss her. "I don't mind hurrying."
"It's good that you're certain," she said, wrapping her arms around his neck. She rested her forehead against his, her body fitting like a puzzle piece with his. "I wouldn't have it any other way."
He kissed her deeply, grinning when he pulled away. "Do you believe in soulmates? I never really have, but if they do exist then I think you're mine."
"I don't think I do," she said frowning. "It seems too sad to me to think that there's only one person on Earth who you are truly meant for, and if you don't find them, then you'll never be quite complete." She refocused on him before leaning in to kiss him, her lips insistent as she moved to kiss his jaw. "That being said, you seem to complete me, so maybe we're one of the lucky ones."
"I know I'm extremely lucky. Finding someone like you? It's just... Wow. I'm just so lucky that I don't believe it sometimes."
She buried her head in his shoulder, her hands rubbing circles into his back, working out the tense knots. "Well, then," she murmured. "We must be soulmates. The feeling is absolutely mutual."
He relaxed in her arms, kissing her neck lightly, his hand gentle as he lightly ran it up her side, careful for her injury. "Good, good. We've decided then. We were made for each other."
She sighed when he kissed her, her head turning to plant a light kiss on the top of his head. "Agreed," she said in his ear. "I guess we're the lucky ones."
"Very lucky," he said, pulling away slightly to look at her, his eyes full of love. He kissed her lightly, smiling against her lips. "There's really not enough words in the universe to explain how much I love you."
"What a pity," she murmured as she shifted to plant a line of light kisses along his jawline. "I would have loved to know."
