"It try," he said. "I mean it's hard not to when there's someone so beautiful sitting in front of you."
She grinned at him and raised an eyebrow. "To be fair, I'm not really sitting in front of you. I'm literally sitting on you." She gestured to his lap. "I mean, if you were talking about me, that is."
He kissed her. "I was talking about you, but I don't understand why you can't just accept my nice words," he said, his voice teasing.
"Hm," she murmured, her lips lightly brushing his, and her fingers resting on his chest. Her eyes flickered up to his and she grinned. "I'll allow it, I suppose."
She smiled against his lips before pulling away. "Do you want to lie down?" she asked. "You said you were tired, right?"
She laughed deeply, ducking her head with the action. "Of course," she said, hugging him tightly. "Of course."
"Good," he said with a smirk, picking her up and placing her on the bed. "I wouldn't prefer it any other way."
She laughed in shock when he picked her up, and when he put her down, she looked up at him from her spot on the bed, her grey eyes thoughtful. "I love you."
She wrapped her arms around his torso and rested her head under his collarbone, fitting in his arms naturally. "So, we're getting married," she behalf am slowly, looking up at him.
"We are. We're going to have a life together." He returned her gaze, putting his arm around her, a smile on his face.
