"I would love that," she said, kissing his cheek. "There's an observatory up in the mountains." She gave him a coy smile. "We could go there one of these nights."
"Awesome," he said excitedly. "I look forward to it. It's just a shame we can't bring pillows and blankets and recreate that night to be better."
"Hm," she said as they entered her building. "Who says we can't bring pillows and blankets? I'm sure they've had weirder situations."
"We probably could, but I'm sure it might be kinda embarrassing. That's no matter, though. I'd like a redo on that night."
They got up to her floor, and she turned and kissed him lightly. "It's a date, then," she said softly.
"Good. We'll have to figure out when," he said. "Perhaps I'll send you a message after I'm done with my work?"
"Lovely," she said evenly. "I actually have to visit the lab for a while; I won't probably be home until 10:00 or so, and then I have to take Tom on a run." She rolled her eyes and looked down at the dog. "He requires a lot of exercise." She looked back up at him brightly and smiled. "So I might not get your message for a while."
He kissed her back, lightly brushing away strands of hair. "I can't wait to see you again. Be safe, alright?"
"Me? Always," she said with a small smile. She embraced him, her arms slipping around his waist and her head resting on his shoulder. "I love you."
They stood like that for a couple of minutes until Poppy pulled away, a small smile. "Okay," she said, lightly kissing his nose. "Go to work."
