She looked at him over her shoulder and grinned. "Right. Well, I'm sorry to disappoint, but the only kind of coffee I have here is instant."
She placed her hands over his and relaxed in his arms. "You probably don't have pajamas in that backpack, do you?" she asked, her voice tinged with concern.
"I might have a couple of extra large shirts or something," she said. She turned in his arms to face him, a small smirk on her face. "Unfortunately, our size differences are rather dramatic."
"Are you suggesting I wear one of your shirts that likely not fit?" He leaned down to kiss her. "I don't know if that would work."
"It'd be funny though," she protested before thinking again. "Hm. Oh! I have one of Ed's shirts. You can just use that."
"Not at all," she replied easily. "Come on." She entered her bedroom, and flicked on the light switch. Her bed was right by the window with a simple white cover. The lights that came on were small fairy lights that exuded warmth. There were plants in here too; succulents that lined the window sill. On her bedside table were a pair of round reading glasses and two books, one on botany and the other on astronomy. There were shelves built into the wall and a modest, wooden dresser in the corner. She crossed the wooden floor and opened the bottom drawer. "Ah.. here," she said, taking out a simple grey t-shirt that seemed several sizes too big for her. "Will this work?"
"Of course," she said, walking over and kissing his cheek. She gave it to him before returning back to the drawers to retrieve her own pajamas.
He exited the room, going to the bathroom to change into the clothes. He would return a minute later.
Poppy was able to change into her pajamas quickly, and she threw her old clothes into the hamper. When Francis returned, her back would be to him as she looked out the window, sitting cross legged on her bed.
She leaned back slightly against him, turning her head. "Oh, nothing. Just the city." She kissed his cheek and smiled. "I'm glad you're here."
