Her eyes fluttered closed when he kissed her, and when they parted, she blinked before returning her head to the spot just below his collarbone. "Good night, Craw."
"Good night, Poppy." He shut his eyes, finally happy after such a long time of sadness. He really had missed this.
(Ye) Francis awoke the early morning, squinting as he tried to remember where he was. He looked down, and his expression softened as he saw Poppy and recalled. Careful to not wake her, he gave her a light kiss on the cheek, and slipped away, going to get dressed again. Once he did so, found a pen and a piece of paper, writing her a quick note. "Good morning, my love. I apologize for having to leave so early, but I expect I'll see you again soon. Message me when you wake up. I love you. Francis."
Poppy stirred slightly when he left the bed, her fingers landing on the place where he had been. She curled up tighter, the blanket slipping off her shoulder.
Poppy woke up about 45 minutes later, and she found herself alone. She sat up, and the blanket slipped off her shoulders. She blinked and noticed the note. She took it carefully, and opened it, settling back into the pillows. She read it quickly, and then smiled to herself. Her watch was on the bedside table, and she tapped it with one finger to wake it up. I'm up. I love you.
As someone who has had to work with patients after they have lost control of their tongue, I am able to decipher most of what you are saying. But unfortunately, my darling, even I am missing some things. Maybe we could make the buttons larger?
Emojis, Craw. Like... little images to show how you're reacting. So, according to you, you're feeling avocado. ❤️
