They sat like that for quite a while, Poppy's head resting on his chest, listening to his heartbeat. When she spoke again, her voice sounded sleepier. "Francis, are you asleep?"
She laughed lightly. "It'd be impolite for me to fall asleep if you were still awake," she said. "So I was checking first."
She laughed, turning her head into his chest. "We're a pretty sleepy couple," she commented. "Have you noticed?"
"It's just because we're always working or on an adventure. This is how we make it up," he said, smiling.
She relaxed into his chest, her eyes closed and her breathing even. "Okay," she murmured. "I love you, you know."
Poppy shifted sleepily, opening one eye. She looked outside and noticed that it was nighttime outside. "Francis," she mumbled. "Do you need to go home?"
