She laughed deeply, reaching over to kiss his cheek. "So we'll have to wait to break up until we get back, to avoid the awkward car ride."
"Good," he said, as they entered the kitchen. Elizabeth was standing over the stove, watching as eggs cooked. She looked up at them with a small smile. "Good morning," she said politely. "Cal and Miles are already at the table." Francis tilted his head. "When did Miles get here?" "Earlier this morning," she replied, turning back.
Poppy gave her a shy smile. "Okay, let me know." She turned to look up at Francis. "Want to go sit down?"
"Yeah," he said, turning to walk into the dining room, where Miles and Cal would be sitting. Cal looked to be around the same age as Elizabeth, and he had dark brown hair with a bit of gray at the temples. He had a serious look, and only bothered to glance up from his coffee as they entered. Miles was a bit distracted on his phone.
He put his hand on her back as Cal was about to speak, but Francis cut in. "Good morning. It's nice to see you, dad. You too, Miles." Cal just gave a nod. "That must be Poppy?"
