"It does actually. But it doesn't surprise me that you'd surprise me, if that makes any sense." She shrugged. "I'm always finding out things about you that I never expected."
Readjusted for a moment, clearing his throat before speaking. "This is the Kind of Hero you are: every time things have become so difficult you can barely breathe, you hace clenched your jaw and pulled your way through. This is the Kind of Hero you are: you have saved yourself from drowning and waded your own body to the shore just in the nick of time. This is the Kind of Hero you are: every time someone has been cruel and beaten your heart to a bloody pulp, you have taken this broken thing and painstakingly brought it back to life. This is the Kind of Hero you are, you are your own knight in shining armor, you are a supernova."
"I agree," she said thoughtfully. She was quiet for a moment before turning to kiss his cheek. "Thank you for reading it to me."
"I love you too," she replied quietly, tilting her head to kiss just underneath his jaw, her lips soft against his shaven cheek.
He smiled, kissing the top of her head quietly before taking her hand. He held it for a moment, before slipping the ring on her finger. "That's better."
She looked down at her hand and then grinned up at him. "We're officially engaged," she murmured quietly, kissing his cheek.
She laughed lowly, returning her head to his shoulder. "Again," she agreed. "This time it will stay, though."
