"Hm. Fine. I suppose human is okay."
"Good." He squeezed her hand. "Thanks."
She grinned up at him before kissing his cheek. "How far are we from the cave?"
"I don't know," he admitted. "I haven't been paying attention to how long we've been walking."
"Bears and salamanders are very distracting," she teased.
"Talking to you is distracting," he said smoothly, "because you're the only thing on my mind."
She flushed, and kissed his cheek. "Am I, now?"
"You are," he said, taking the flower from his hair and putting it in her own.
The flower contrasted with her auburn hair, and she grinned up at him. "You're a flirt."
"I know," he said teasingly. "It's fun."
She squinted at him. "You make me blush."
"It's my reward."
"People shouldn't get rewards for bad things."
"Flirting with you isn't bad," he said. "We're getting married soon."
"Oh, right," she said. "I forgot about that."
He frowned. "I thought you said you wouldn't?"
"I tried," she said, "but my memory failed me."
"Tsk tsk." He shook his head. "Shame on you."
"I'm sorry," she said teasingly. "You distracted me."
"You're still bit supposed to forget. You're even the one who decided the month."
